Guide · paint correction
Does your car need paint correction?
Yes, if direct sun shows swirls on the bonnet or spots that won’t wash off. Most of these polish out.
The sun test
Park in direct sun and look along the bonnet. Spider-web circles are wash swirls. Rings that survive a wash are water etching, from hard water and salt air. Both sit in the clear coat, and both polish out.
What polishes out
Swirls, etching, holograms, oxidation and any scratch your fingernail doesn’t catch. A scratch that catches your nail is through the clear coat and needs our scratch repair (repaint and blend), not polish. We confirm with a paint-depth gauge at inspection.
One-step or two-stage
One-step: a single pass for new or well-kept paint, and before any coating. Two-stage: a cut then a finish, for swirls and light etching, the right level for most cars on Indian roads. Multi-stage: oxidised or heavily etched paint, quoted at inspection.
After correction
Corrected paint is bare. A sealant protects it for about six months; a coating or PPF keeps it for years. Book a free inspection and we will read your paint depth and name the stage it needs.
Questions
Paint correction: what owners ask
Is paint correction the same as polishing?
Polishing is the method; correction is the result: defects removed in measured amounts without thinning the clear coat too far. We measure paint depth before and after.
How often can paint be corrected?
Each correction removes a little clear coat. Two or three two-stage corrections in a car’s life is reasonable, and protected paint rarely needs another.
How much does it cost?
One-step from ₹4,000 on a hatchback, two-stage from ₹8,000, multi-stage from ₹20,000. Before GST.
