Graphene coating in Mangalore
Three to five years of slick, spot-resistant protection, applied over corrected paint and cured indoors.
What graphene coating is
Graphene coating sits one step above our Signature ceramic coat. It is a graphene-infused coating that cures into a hard, slick layer over corrected paint, sheds water faster and leaves fewer water spots behind. On a car that lives in Mangaluru, that last part matters more than anywhere else. Expect three to five years of protection, with the car in the studio for 2 to 3 days.
A ceramic coating bonds a glass-hard 9H layer to the clear coat. A graphene coating does the same job with graphene added to the formula. The result is a surface that feels slicker to the touch and lets water roll off rather than sit and dry in beads. Fewer beads drying on the paint means fewer mineral rings left behind after rain or a rinse, which is the main reason owners choose it over a standard coating.
It is still a coating, not a film. It keeps paint glossy and easy to wash, slows sun fade and gives salt, sap and droppings something other than your clear coat to sit on. It does not stop stone chips or key scratches. For those, paint protection film on the front is the answer, and many owners fit both.
Why it suits coastal paint
Mangaluru paint lives with salt air, months of monsoon water and hard sun. Salt settles and dries into the clear coat. Rain leaves mineral spots that etch when the sun bakes them in. Any coating helps, because the grime sits on the coating and rinses away at the next wash. Graphene's advantage is the water itself: a slicker surface sheds it before it can dry into spots. If your car is parked outdoors through the monsoon, or near the sea in Ullal or Surathkal, this is where you will see the difference.
Graphene, Signature or Essential
All three go on over corrected paint and carry their warranty in the D24 app. The difference is how long they last and how slick they stay.
The Essential coat lasts one to two years and takes 2 days, from ₹12,500 on a hatchback. The Signature coat lasts three years and more and takes 2 to 3 days, from ₹27,000. Graphene coating lasts three to five years and takes 2 to 3 days, from ₹38,000. All before GST.
Prices rise with car size; the table below shows graphene for every size. Paint correction is priced separately: one-step gloss enhancement from ₹4,000 and two-stage correction from ₹8,000 on a hatchback. Every price is fixed at a free inspection.
How a graphene coating goes on at D24
Every car goes through the same five stages: inspect, decontaminate, correct, protect, hand over.
Day one is inspection, a wash and decontamination: iron remover for the brake dust bonded into the paint, tar remover for the lower panels, then clay. We read paint depth on every panel before any polishing, then correct to the level agreed at the inspection, checked panel by panel under LED light. A coating seals in whatever is underneath, swirls included, so correction always comes first.
Before the coating goes on, every panel is wiped with a panel prep to strip polishing oils, so the coating bonds to bare clear coat. It is applied one panel at a time, levelled, and left to cure indoors. The car does not get wet while it cures.
After you drive it home
Keep the car dry for the first day and wash by hand from the second week with a pH-neutral shampoo. Skip automatic brush washes; they wear any coating. A maintenance wash at the studio every two to four weeks (₹1,200) tops the coating up and keeps it shedding water. Once a year, a coating renewal (from ₹5,000 on a hatchback) decontaminates the paint and adds a fresh top layer. Your D24 app reminds you when each is due.
Is graphene worth the extra?
If you keep cars for a long time, park outdoors, or are tired of water spots after every shower, yes: you buy more years and a slicker finish in one visit. If you change cars every two years, the Essential coat covers that span for far less. If stone chips worry you most, put the budget into PPF on the front first. Bring the car to Pandeshwar for a free inspection and we will tell you which one the paint actually needs.

Questions
Graphene coating: what owners ask
How long does graphene coating last in Mangalore?
Three to five years, with a maintenance wash every two to four weeks and a coating renewal once a year to keep it at its best.
Is graphene coating better than ceramic coating?
It is a step up: slicker, with less water spotting and a longer lifespan than our Essential or Signature ceramic coats. Like any coating, it does not stop stone chips. For those, add PPF.
How much does graphene coating cost at D24?
From ₹38,000 on a hatchback, before GST. Paint correction is priced separately, from ₹4,000 for a one-step. Your price is fixed at the free inspection.
How long will my car be at the studio?
2 to 3 days, covering decontamination, correction, coating and an indoor cure.
Can I coat a car without polishing it first?
No. A coating seals in whatever is underneath, swirls included, so we correct first. A new car usually needs only a one-step.
