How to care for paint protection film
Leave it unwashed for a week, then hand wash it gently. Avoid the few things that damage film and it stays clear.
The first week
No washing for seven days while the adhesive cures. Small bubbles or a slight haze are normal and clear as trapped moisture evaporates. Come back for the one-week check we include.
Washing
pH-neutral shampoo, a clean mitt, and a pressure washer kept back from film edges. No brush washes, no abrasive wax. A ceramic coat over the film makes every wash easier.
Stains and marks
Remove bird droppings, sap and bugs within a day or two; they etch film as they etch paint. Light swirls self-heal with sun or warm water. A gouge through to the paint means the film did its job: we re-film that panel alone, priced per panel.
What voids the warranty
Accident damage, stone chips that cut through the film, abrasive polishing or solvents, edges lifted by a pressure jet, and repairs done elsewhere. Yellowing, cracking, bubbling and peeling are covered for your film’s 5 or 7 years. If you are unsure about a mark, WhatsApp us a photo first.
Questions
Paint protection film (PPF): what owners ask
Can I polish PPF?
Only with film-safe products and a soft pad; paint compounds scuff film. We do it at the yearly check.
Can PPF be removed?
Yes. A professional lifts it cleanly with heat, and the paint underneath is as it was the day the film went on.
